Indeed, it is far-fetched to understand that there will be an in-dwelling of the Spirit of God in us. However, this Spirit of God, is so vital to our future that Jesus died and resurrected to get this gift from the Father , subsequently to be given to us. Read the following:
John 16:7″Nevertheless I (Jesus) tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away(die and resurrect): for if I go not away, the Comforter (Holy Spirit) will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.”
John 14:26: “But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative–that is, the Holy Spirit–he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you”( New Living Translation).
“Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” (John 14:17).
“I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” (John 14:18)
Also, in I John 4:1-3 show that Jesus is come in the flesh; and confirmed by I John 4:12 “that God dwells in us and his love is perfected in us”
Moreover, this Spirit of God dwelt fully in man-Jesus at baptism in river Jordan (Matthew 3:16) as a dove
